Passionné
frVincent Gautier a parcouru le monde, le coeur et les yeux grands ouverts. A la trentaine alors que la jeunesse s’enfuie et qu’il faut se résigner aux bonnes résolutions, il décide de transformer ce qui aurait pu être un passe-temps amateur en profession.
Cette vocation tardive ne doit bien sûr rien au hasard, quand on est fils de reporter-photographe rien ne s’oppose à ce qu’on manipule les appareils de prises de vues, les agrandisseurs, le révélateur, le fixateur et la "glaceuse" à tambour dans le laboratoire paternel.
Après des études en audiovisuel, il part en Yougoslavie comme compagnon de route d’une association humanitaire; où il réalise un travail documentaire sur les Roms de Croatie. Passionné par l’Asie du Sud-Est, il part pour le Laos où il restera pendant 13 ans.
Polyvalent
Il y devient le premier journaliste étranger accrédité et est recruté par European Press-photo Agency (EPA). Il travaille également pour des agences des Nations Unies: PNUD, UNFPA et UNICEF, ainsi que de nombreuses ONG internationales.
Son approche journalistique de la photographie lui a permis de réaliser de nombreux "essais" photographiques dans des domaines tels que l'éducation, la santé, l'environnement, la politique, le sport, les questions sociales et la culture.
Ses photographies ont été publiées par The Age, Bangkok Post, The Guardian, International Herald Tribune, Le Monde, New York Times, Paris-Match, South China Morning Post, Time magazine, Forbes magazine, Condé Nast Traveler et de nombreuses autres publications.

Vincent Gautier has traveled around the world, heart and eyes wide open. Around thirty when the youth ran away and we must resign ourselves to good resolutions, he decided to turn what could have been a hobby into a profession.
This late vocation is of course nothing to chance when one is son of photojournalist nothing precludes that manipulates cameras, enlargers, developer, fixer and "glaceuse" drum in his father's laboratory.
After studying audiovisual, he went to Yugoslavia as a companion to a humanitarian organization; where he made a documentary work on Gypsies in Croatia. Passionated by Southeast Asia, he left for Laos, where he remained for 13 years.
Photographe
He became the first accredited foreign journalist in Laos and then was recruited by European Press-photo Agency (EPA), He also worked for UN agencies: UNDP, UNFPA and UNICEF, as well as many international NGOs.
His journalistic approach to photography has allowed him to make numerous photographic essays in areas such as education, health, environment, politics, sports, social issues and culture.
His photographs have been published by The Age, Bangkok Post, The Guardian, International Herald Tribune, Le Monde, New York Times, Paris Match, South China Morning Post, Time magazine, Forbes magazine, Condé Nast Traveler and many other publications.
